Another benefit is that you are not required to renew the license with two different people after one year of domain name registration.
The problem with choosing the same service provider is that you might not get a great deal with both the services. You may have a great domain name but the hosting service may not be up to par and you may not get the desired domain name with a hosting service which offers excellent service. Many people do recommend that it is always advisable to choose different service providers for your domain name registration and web hosting requirements.
